Expect delays between South Hayward and Fremont Stations midday- WORK COMPLETED

UPDATED: 9/12/2016: THIS WORK HAS COMPLETED

We will be working on important power cable work between 9:30am and 2:30pm, Monday through Friday. This is in addition to the work we are doing at night and on weekends. The safety of the work crews requires that we single-track trains through the area between South Hayward and Fremont stations, which will result in 20-30 minute delays.

Passengers heading to Fremont from San Francisco may need to transfer at South Hayward to complete their trip. Passengers travelling in the Fremont to Richmond direction will have to take a Daly City train from Fremont and transfer at South Hayward or Bay Fair to a Richmond train.

Passengers who are travelling between Hayward and Fremont may wish to use the AC Transit 99 service to avoid delays. The buses run approximately every 20 minutes and stop at Hayward, South Hayward, Union City and Fremont stations.

The work includes replacing the cabling that is over 40 years old. The work is part of our efforts to build a better BART, which will make the system safer, more reliable and reduce traffic. These extra hours will allow us to complete the work before October, which is our busiest month.

We realize that this will be inconvenient for you and appreciate your patience during this important maintenance work.
