Take BART to Pride Sunday, June 24
On Sunday, June 24, BART will open at 8am running on a normal Sunday schedule with some added event trains. There will be large crowds at Embarcadero Station before the parade starts at 10:30am and large crowds are expected at Civic Center Station all day.
Passengers headed to the festivities are encouraged to use BART’s mobile website (http://m.bart.gov) for Real Time Departures and other service related information. The service will not match our published schedules because of the additions. To avoid long lines at ticket machines, purchase a round-trip ticket beforehand or use a pre-loaded Clipper card.
We will have tables set up at four stations to sell pre-loaded Adult fare Clipper cards that have $11.00 of cash value. The card will cost $14.00 including the $3.00 Clipper fee. Credit cards will be accepted for your purchase. The stations with tables are: Fremont, Dublin/Pleasanton, El Cerrito del Norte, and Millbrae.
This year marks the 48th annual San Francisco Pride Celebration, to be held over the weekend and culminating in Sunday’s parade. With an incredible number of participants each year, the San Francisco LGBT Pride Celebration and Parade is the largest annual gathering of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender people and allies in the nation.
San Francisco Pride has come to symbolize several things: the long history of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer dignity, the freedom of all people to meaningfully and proudly express their sexual and gender identities, and the commitment of LGBT people to combating oppression.

As with any large event, BART Police rely on passengers to report suspicious or illegal activity happening on trains or in stations. Be on the lookout for abandoned packages, suspicious behavior, or unattended vehicles; let a nearby station agent or police officer know if you encounter these things while riding. Download the BART Watch app from the App Store or Google Play. Additional officers will be on patrol during SF Pride weekend, but passengers must remain vigilant and aware of their surroundings at all times. Remember the important advice: If you see something, say something!
