To ensure the work can be done safely, we will reduce service from two tracks to one on both days. The work is scheduled to happen between 8am and 3pm both days.  Yellow Line riders should expect delays of up to 10-15 minutes in the work area. To ensure a safe workspace for the team, there will be no train service between Union City and Warm Springs/South Fremont on Saturday May 11 and Sunday May 12. Instead, free buses provided by AC Transit will move riders between the Union City, Fremont, and Warm Springs/South Fremont stations. Riders can expect delays ranging from 20 to 40 minutes on the shutdown weekend of 5/11-12. The work will also require us to shut down the Green Line for the weekend.The bus bridge will feature direct service between Union City and Warm Springs/South Fremont as well as hopper service that will also stop at Fremont Station. Fremont Station will offer no train service but will remain open for buses. There will be a train shuttle service between Warm Springs/South Fremont and Berryessa/North San Jose. Northbound departure times will be adjusted ten minutes earlier. The last two evening trips from Berryessa/North San Jose normally scheduled for 11:36pm and 11:49pm will be cancelled. Riders should instead use the train that departs at 11:26pm. Northbound trains from Union City will be shifted six minutes earlier than the current schedule at Union City, South Hayward, and Hayward stations. Riders headed for San Francisco should plan to transfer to a Blue Line train at Bay Fair Station.This upcoming work is part of BART’s overall effort to improve safety and reliability of the 131-mile, 50 station system. The special service will get race participants to Embarcadero around 7am.The special early morning event trains will pick up passengers for an Embarcadero arrival with limited service from the following peninsula stations; Millbrae, Daly City, and 16th Street Mission in San Francisco and from the East Bay; West Oakland, MacArthur, Pleasant Hill, El Cerrito del Norte, Bay Fair, and Dublin stations. These stations will be the only stations opened early for service.These four trains will go out of service once they drop riders off at Embarcadero. Riders cannot board a train at Embarcadero. Special Service DetailsOne train will leave Millbrae at 6:30am and will stop at Daly City at 6:43am, 16th Street Mission at 6:53am and then Embarcadero at 6:58am. Interlockings are a vital part of the BART system. They are segments of the railway that allow trains to safely move from line to line. To ensure a safe workspace for the project team, free buses will replace trains between the three stations. Riders can expect delays of up to 40 minutes on work weekends. Work will take place through the heart of the District on select, non-consecutive weekends into 2026Free buses will replace trains between Rockridge, MacArthur, and 19th Street stations on the following weekends: June 22-23; July 20-21; August 17-18; September 21-22; October 19-20; and November 2-3. In addition to the track shutdown there will be no Red Line service on these weekends.Key service impacts on all work weekends for this project include:*Red Line service cancelled (service to/from Millbrae will be via the Yellow line).*MacArthur Station will be open for southbound Orange Line stops from Richmond. No Yellow Line service to MacArthur.*Orange Line bus bridge will operate between MacArthur and 19th St.*Yellow Line bus bridge will include buses that go directly between Rockridge and 19th St as well as buses that also stop at MacArthur. Please avoid bringing motorized bikes or eBikes to the bus bridge as they may not be allowed on the buses.*All train schedules will be different from the normal weekend timetables.
